The Manx Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club (informally known as Manx Paragliders) supports hang gliding and paragliding on the Isle of Man. We enjoy spectacular coastal soaring as well as majestic inland hill sites and we don’t have far to travel between sites if the wind changes direction.
We welcome visiting pilots who are fully trained and offer a 30 day Visitor Membership for just £5. For pilots spending longer periods on the island we offer Full Membership or Associate Membership.
We are a recreational club for trained pilots only and we do not have the facilities for tandem flights, training or air experience days. To find out about getting started in paragliding at regulated commercial facilities please visit the website of the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association.
If you would like to learn to fly, you will need to travel off island. We used to have an active paragliding training school on the island but there was not enough custom to keep the school going.
We are sometimes asked about powered flight or paramotoring. This is not an area that our club actively participates in. For further information about powered flight on the Isle of Man, please consult the power section of the BHPA website.
You will find some great reading on the Club News page with articles going back a considerable number of years.
For further information, please check out our Members Area and Pilot Information pages. If you have a question that we haven’t covered, please feel free to Contact Us.
